Anne Hathaway Celebrates Engagement in NYC in a Major Way

Anne Hathaway has had her share of troubles in the romance department, but her engagement to Adam Shulman last November has her smiling and celebrating.

Anne Hathaway, fresh off her latest film "Dark Knight Rises" and still just 29 years old, got engaged to Adam Shulman last November and, last Saturday night, took the opportunity to celebrate that fact. Noted one source of the party, "Anne had a smile on her face all night long. With every friend and family member that approached her, that smile just got brighter." The party was at Housing Works Bookstore Café in SoHo and, though 125 attended, there were no celebrities present aside from Hathaway herself.

The source added, "Some of the family was meeting each other for the first time. It was so very important for them to just have an amazing time introducing their families and making sure that everyone they knew and loved was on board." Hathaway, a vegetarian, had the food for the party made to taste, including vegan burgers and cupcakes and a host of other treats. Hathaway wore a navy dress that included silver details, as well as her new favorite accessory – her engagement ring.

Noted the same source of Hathaway’s emerald-cut Kwiat diamond ring, "I caught her catching a glimpse of her ring a few times." Hathaway has generally been unlucky in love, despite having the looks, personality and talent to draw just about any man to her she may want. By all accounts, the actress has been much happier and has recovered from some past bad romances after she and Shulman became engaged late last year. And you can be sure that when the wedding occurs, there will be a lot more news to report!
